Our March session was all about confidence! The girls were encouraged to be confident and walk with the confidence of a model. Our speaker, Ms. Audrey “Pat” McGhee, led the girls in an activity requiring them to think of words that described confidence. She reminded them to watch facial and body language, practice positive thoughts, and stay away from negative conversations with others. One of her final points was “have your own style and own it”. During the style portion, she explained how young ladies should dress for various occasions and using beautiful visuals, she showed the girls some examples and explained how they could pair separates and accessorize. Before the session finale, she taught the girls how to sit and stand appropriately, as well as, how to enter and exit a car appropriately. Mentees enjoyed practicing using their chairs. The session ended with a Confidence Walk! Mentees and Mentors walked the runway with confidence and beautiful smiles!
